In a study comparing the effectiveness of Arnica gel and ibuprofen gel for osteoarthritis, more patients testing Arnica gel (64%) expressed satisfaction than those testing ibuprofen gel (58.8%). The clinical trial—a randomized, double-blind study—included 204 participants who had radiology results confirming that they had osteoarthritis in their fingers. The study was conducted by 20 Swiss doctors who also evaluated the efficacy of the Arnica gel as better than that of the ibuprofen gel overall since it was as effective and better tolerated.
